It sounds dumb to say aloud, but damn, do I love Walgreens. I made a little trip today to pick up essentials that’ll get me through the rest of the semester (and the rest of college – what is my life?!) and ended up spending a little too much time in the beauty aisle. It’s okay, though! I realized I haven’t done a drugstore haul in a long while because nothing there has excited me all that much, but today I found some things I’m really looking forward to trying.

Revlon Gold Series Nail File. Honestly, I’m just really sick of buying cheap-o files that break in my purse and last for about three filing sessions – the label “durable” on this baby is the main reason I picked it up. I knew I found my match in this gorgeous gold Revlon file, which even folds over a bit to truly surround the edge of the nail.

Covergirl Colorlicious Lip Lava Lip Gloss in Lava-Nder. Usually, when I pick up something at the drugstore, it’s because I had heard good things about it before and decided to give it a shot. Not so with this gloss – it looked so glittery and inviting – both in the tube and swatched on the back of my hand that I couldn’t NOT buy it. I’m so excited to wear this attention-grabber to a party or concert soon!

L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Last Lipcolor in Raisin Revival. I’m all about a liquid lipstick, but I’ve yet to find a drugstore option that equals my Lime Crime Velvetines or my Anastasia lippies. I picked this up in the hope that maybe, just maybe, L’Oréal has managed to create my match.

L’Oréal The Wild Extraordinaire Lip Color in Scarlet Concerto. Absolutely, 10,000% fell for the packaging on this one. I haven’t even heard much about this product, so we’ll see how it goes!

Maybelline Color Molten Eyeshadow in Taupe Craze. Eyeshadow is one of the few products that I almost always go prestige for, simply because just about every drugstore shadow I’ve tried feels chalky and has subpar pigmentation. The fact that this shadow is a “liquefied powder” gives me hope that it might just apply well. And, in true Kate-and-Miranda fashion, I picked it up in Taupe. Which makes me miss her. Come home, Miranda!

Essie Nail Lacquer in Ignite the Night and After School Boy Blazer. These adorable minis were on sale at the drugstore and, hello, who wouldn’t pick up a discounted glittery silver and navy blue?! And, as always, gotta love those shade names.

Have you tried any of these? What did you think?
