A BOOTS EXPERIENCE IN THE US?

The London to NYC culture shock is real, ya’ll. Although I’ve been back for a few months, every now and then something reignites the memories and makes me miss London all over again. Not only have I been missing the daily trips to Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and my all time favorite coffee shop (the pricey but oh-so-perfect Freestate Coffee), most of all, I miss Boots. Yes, the mundane but amazing drugstore of my dreams tops the list of places I want to spend my life perusing (close seconds include Selfridge’s and that Oxford Circus Topshop #bless).

Anyway, as I strolled into Duane Reade with my beloved Kavya (we spend all of our lunch hours buying makeup – raise your hand if you are unsurprised), I realized that there had been a FREAKING BOOTS HIDING RIGHT UNDER MY NOSE FOR THE PAST TWO MONTHS. Here is my story *insert Law and Order transition music*.

Long story short: I went to Duane Reade to buy body wash and left with no body wash, a face mask, and day cream. I spent so much money that I got a free face mist. God damn it, guys. I keep using “I have a blog” as an excuse to spend money and it’s really getting out of hand. I just need you guys to make me famous so I can actually afford these habits.

What I ended up with were three awesome products (one of which was a freebie). The first was the No. 7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream for Normal/Oily Skin. This (I was told) is a good moisturizer to use during the day under makeup, and isn’t too heavy- so it’s pretty summer friendly. It’s also got SPF 15 which is a plus. I’ve only used it for a few days but I’m liking it so far. The second purchase was the No. 7 Lift & Luminate Mask which is a sheet mask formulated primarily with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C. I’ve not used that one yet so I’ll update soon. I’ve got a few masks on rotation at the moment so I will probably put up a post soon about those. I’ve never had the best experience with hyaluronic acid- the Indeed Labs Hydraluron made my face super stingy, but we will see. The final thing is the Hydrating Mineral Water Spray, which was the freebie. TBH I don’t really believe in these mineral sprays because I never feel like they do anything, but I will report back.

I will return with reviews on the products I ended up with but I just thought I’d share the experience. We were helped by the best Duane Reade employee I’ve ever met- Kourtney (included in selfie), so if the management at Duane Reade is reading this, promote her. I know it’s her job to convince me to buy things and she totally succeeded, but she was super nice and she did a fancy skin test on me only to let me know that my skin was dehydrated and that it needed a fancy new moisturizer.

So maybe I was scammed. It’s fine. I was just so happy to see the word Boots that I got carried away.

Anyone enjoy the No.7 Skincare range? I’m new to it.
