As an avid lover of the feline flick, I am very picky when it comes to eyeliner. The brush, the handle, the line, it all makes eons of difference in my wings, and ultimately, my life. I’ve tried and tested many a liquid liner, and I think I have a pretty great lineup to share with you. So here you have it: the liquid liner breakdown.
1) Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper– This liner is the best I ever had (cue Drake). It has a great felt tip brush that allows for both precision and high-intensity blackness whilst maintaining a sleek package and a relatively affordable price point (about $16 but it lasts forever). This liner is the ultimate. If you like a precise line, this is your shit.
2) Soap and Glory Supercat Liner– This is a recent London purchase for me, but I have to say I love it. It has more of a gel-like consistency than other liners, and it creases a little bit without a primer, but I love the slightly thicker tube and super precise tip. This liner is not super expensive either, so I’d definitely say that it’s worth a shot if you cant get your hands on the Kat Von D.
3) Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner – Alexa Chung was a total enabler with this one. The Eyeko liquid liner applies amazingly, almost as well as the Kat Von D, but it definitely needs a primer. I wore this out and got home and it was all over my eyelids. Won’t be making that mistake again. When paired with the NARS Smudgeproof Eye Base, it applies like a dream.
4) Maybelline Lash Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner– This eyeliner has a thicker felt tip than the others, which makes it hard to apply if you’re looking for a thin line, but for more dramatic eyeliners, it’s amazing. This stuff is the cheapest of the bunch, but it goes on great with a primer and has serious staying power.
Some honorable mentions need to be made, however. Gabriela of Breathing Fashion swears by the ELF Liquid Eyeliner and some cotton buds for precision. Ringing in at a whopping one dollar, it’s a great steal, and her liner is always on point. My old favorite pre-Kat Von D days was the L’Oreal Lineur Intense Liner in Carbon Black. It was my all time favorite for ages, and it’s super affordable as well.
What is your favorite liquid liner? I’m always open to new suggestions in the feline-flick arena.
