Hey guys! So, I’m gonna do the best I can to make myself seem as awesome as Miranda made me out to be in her introduction post, but it’s gonna be hard.

I am so so pumped to finally be doing some fashion blogging! I thought my first post should probably be about me and all the things in the fashion world that make me squeal like a little girl. Because, um, there are a lot of them.

That being said, I’m Kate. I’m a sophomore at UGA in Athens, Georgia, and although it’s a small city with quite a few of what I like to call “frat stars”, there’s a pretty amazing style hub here too. I’m a Journalism and Art History double major. I love writing, reading, and thanks to my boyfriend buying me a pottery wheel, I’ve finally been able to get back into ceramics too. I’m also a diehard music lover, but my taste is kind of all over the place: Sam Cooke meets the Pixies meets the White Stripes meets the xx. I’m obsessed with cats and Harry Potter and I’m beginning to have a new infatuation with nail art.

Okay, enough of that. Now to the fun stuff.

When it comes to fashion, I love, love love:

  • 1950s dresses, pin-up girl style
  • Alexander McQueen
  • Super ethereal floor-length skirts and dresses
  • High-waisted shorts
  • Humongous bows atop my head (and everywhere else, for that matter)
  • Tulle
  • Louboutin (of course)
  • Polka dots
  • Studs
  • Loafers of any variety
  • Prada
  • Fur
  • Animal stuff (not necessarily prints, but gimme a big sweater with a tiger on it and I’m in love)
  • Elie Saab
  • Combat boots
  • Brocade
  • Leather
  • Balmain
  • Dolce & Gabbana
  • Bright-colored Jeans
  • Head scarves
  • Anything crazy that Lady Gaga would wear
  • Marchesa
  • Shirts buttoned allll the way up
  • Sculptural heels

I guess you could say my style’s pretty rockabilly – retro and girly meets edgy and punk.

I pretty much just started salivating while posting those pictures… Can it just be Fashion Week already?!
