MOVIE REVIEW: LOST IN TRANSLATION

Keeping with our romance fueled February here, I wanted to do another movie review of something I also saw recently. This movie is not one of those movies where the plot matters that much. It’s pretty much a character study of a man played by Bill Murray, who is having a bit of a mid-life crisis. He meets Scarlett Johannson, and the rest is history. It’s not your typical love story, beware. The movie is directed by Sofia Coppola, who I absolutely adore, and she is a master of sexual tension. The whole movie you’re thinking one thing, and by the end you’re kind of still in the same place. I don’t want to spoil things.

This is a great movie but you have to watch it when you’re very awake or else you will probably fall asleep. It’s a movie about a boring man. You just have to accept that and move on to the important stuff. It’s also set in Japan, which makes things very interesting. There’s a bit of culture shock that’s just fascinating.
