So seeing as it is February, the month of looooove, I thought this would be a fitting review to post. I watched this movie for the first time last night, and I have to say it combined like my three favorite things in the world. British men, Britain, and British accents. So.

Only joking (sort of) but I really did love this! This is not your typical rom com. It’s got a lot more depth than that I think. It’s that vignette type of story line that we’ve seen eight million times (New York, I Love You, Valentine’s Day, New Years Eve, Paris je t’aime, etc.) The story follows a bunch of characters during the days leading up to Christmas. It’s a really cute story, and there are some great performances. Liam Neeson and his stepson have the most ADORABLE story in the whole film. Hugh Grant’s and Colin Firth’s are both great too, probably because they’re so damn attractive, but regardless, the stories in this movie really make it. To give you an idea, we’ve got Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Andrew Lincoln, Alan Rickman, Laura Linney, Bill Nighy, and Keira Knightley. Pretty much god’s lineup there.

Anyway, I highly recommend that you check this out in the spirit of Valentine’s Day. If you were planning on watching the movieĀ Valentine’s Day, watch this instead. It’s got that sweet British thing going for it, and it doesn’t have Taylor Swift trying to act in it.
