Welcome to the start of a brand new week everyone! For most of us here in the grand old south, this means the beginning of second semester. I thought I’d review another new movie this week! I saw a few over break and I figured I’d keep with the times and actually write about things that are happening in film now. The movie I want to talk about today is the newest James Bond installation, Skyfall.
First of all, this is the first James Bond movie I’ve ever seen, so I have nothing else to compare it to, really. The only things I’ve seen that I would compare this to are the Bourne movies (The Bourne Identity, Supremacy, Advocacy, Literacy, etc.) which I absolutely love. Anyway, I thought this film was amazing! I love action/spy movies so this was right up my alley. I always love seeing CIA missions and covert operations and amazing escapes (Dear CIA if you’re reading this recruit me please). Anyway, the scenes are extravagant, beautifully shot, and quite glamorous. I loved Daniel Craig a lot, though like I said, I haven’t seen the Sean Connery classics. Javier Bardem is creepy and disgusting (in a good way), and Judi Dench is fierce. My favorite character, though, was nerdy British techie “Q”. I’ll show some photos below but this guy is so attractive, like come on are all the CIA tech prodigies incredibly stylish and witty? Also, Ralph Fiennes (ya boy Voldy) is in this, and his character is awesome too. Overall, I loved this! I’m impressed that James Bond does all of his glamorous killing and sprinting in a suit. That’s how the world should be.
If you like drama, action, glamour, and all of the classic “Bond” touches, you will love Skyfall! Adele did the theme for this movie, which is beautiful I must say, and you can listen to that right [here]!
