This summer has been a bit of a whirlwind. So far it’s been quite different from what I had envisioned it to be. I like to imagine summer as this time of opportunity where anything is possible and everything is okay. It’s kind of a free period where you don’t really get in trouble for anything you do because it’s summer and that’s what summer is for.

Going into all of this I had a clear idea of what I was going to do and who I was going to be with. Needless to say, as with most of my plans, a lot of my extravagant summer fantasies are not happening. This is not necessarily upsetting but it’s interesting how life just kind of does whatever the hell it wants. There’s been a lot of hanging around right here in the good ol’ hometown which is nice. There are days when all I want to do is go back to Venice Beach (my favorite place ever) and visit my friends in NYC but unfortunately unlimited riches are not yet mine. So I’ve just been trying to capture this summer as well as I can so I can store it away for a rainy November day. Here goes nothin’.

In addition to these lovely people, a few things have made their way into my daily summer routine. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter (@mirandafen) you’ll have heard quite a bit about my obsessions with Friday Night Lights and Pretty Little Liars. I’ve been slowly making my way through all of the FNL on Netflix and Pretty Little Liars is pretty much on year round so I have been quite satisfied. In the meantime, stay tuned for a cheeky back to school post coming soon! Binders and highlighters galore!
