WHY WES ANDERSON IS THE GREATEST

I haven’t written a rambling post in a while, I’ve sort of been sticking to my theme posts. However, I feel the need to dedicate a whole post (or as much as I can stand of it) to a wonderful human named Wes Anderson. This man is incredible. I don’t think he’s made more than ten films but the ones he has made are so cool. He’s directed The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited, Rushmore, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, as well as Fantastic Mr.Fox. He has a new film coming out called Moonrise Kingdom.

He just oozes hipness. His films are often very aesthetically pleasing, with intricate cinematography as well as similar rich color schemes (sorry, nerdgasming). Anyway, he’s 42 now but he looks like he might as well be 25. That means he is in my reach.

Here are some pretty stills and trailers from his films. Go rent them!

The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)

Anderson often features characters who blew their chances at success and are now down and out losers. These characters, however are ridiculously likable. Not to mention that he uses pretty much the same actors in everything (Bill Murray, Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson, etc.)

Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)

And his new film, Moonrise Kingdom. You know why I am crying? Because life will never be this beautiful. Gah.

Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

^She looks so Hitchcock-esque. I love it.

Here’s the genius himself.

love love love.
